Headstore / Legal Highs
Our headstore department has recently opened instore supplying a large range of legal highs and lifestyle accessories like pipes, bongs, papers etc.
What are legal highs?
Legal highs are substances known to create a higher state of being by chemically altering your mind and body, from mild dizziness to euphoric happy feelings. They differ from many illegal substances in that they are not a controlled substance within the definition of the law.
They are generally produced or manufactured substances or can be natural seeds, leaves and roots dried or fresh, many of the naturally occuring legal highs have been used by tribes around the world for thousands of years and with the availability of world trade and transportation it is now possible to bring these exotic products direct to your door.
Laboratory produced legal highs are manufactured under strict conditions to ensure a pure and clean high without any fillers or extra bulking chemicals often associated with illegal drugs. Many of these herbal highs are produced under licence by governments such as in New Zealand where they are produced to help eliminate the illegal drug use and associated problems.
Some of the more common types of natural herbal highs include Salvia which is derived from the American plant Salvia divinorum, a member of the mint family. It is used by the Mazatecs and others in Meso America in shaman rituals and healing.
Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) a medicinal leaf harvested from a large tree native to Southeast Asia in the Rubiaceae. It is botanically related to the Corynanthe, Cinchona and Uncaria genera and shares some similar biochemistry. It is in the same family as coffee, and the psychoactive plant Psychotria viridis.
It is used for its psychoactive effects. In Southeast Asia the fresh leaves are usually chewed, often continuously, by workers or manual laborers seeking a numbing, stimulating effect. Elsewhere, the leaves are often made into a tea or extracted into water and then evaporated into a tar that can be swallowed. Kratom is not often smoked, although this method does provide some effect.
